Dubai’s toll gate operator has announced a temporary change to toll gate rates during one of the city’s biggest fitness events of the year.

Salik introduced variable rates at the start of 2025 which meant that fees changed depending on the time of day you travelled through them.

Dubai Ride will see tens of thousands of people take to the emirate’s busiest streets in the early hours of Sunday November 2, as part of the first flagship event of the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Road closures have been announced on Sheikh Zayed Road between 3am and 10am while the race takes over Downtown Dubai.

And, to allow for smoother traffic flow on Sunday November 2, Salik has introduced short-term adjustments to toll rates and timings. The rates for Dubai Ride can be seen below:

  • 1am – 6am: Free
  • 6am – 10am: Dhs6
  • 10am – 4pm: Dhs4
  • 4pm – 8pm: Dhs6
  • 8pm – 1am: Dhs4

The changed rates mean that the usual standard Sunday rates are not in place on the day of the race.

Instead, the Sunday rates have been brought in line with the existing daily fees as traffic is expected to be busier throughout the day.

When the variable toll fees were first announced, it was revealed that Sundays would have a flat Dhs4 rate – excluding special occasions and major events.

Salik toll gates are in place at 10 of the most heavily congested roads in Dubai, these are:

  • Al Barsha
  • Al Garhoud Bridge
  • Al Maktoum Bride
  • Al Mamzar North
  • Al Mamzar South
  • Al Safa
  • Al Safa South
  • Airport tunnel
  • Business Bay
  • Jebel Ali

In November 2024, two new gates were added in the city at Al Khail Road at the Business Bay Crossing and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road.
