Multidisciplinary, muralist, art director, and entrepreneur — Sapna Kissoondoyal turns walls and spaces into vibrant celebrations of color and life. Through Sapna Gallery, she showcases dazzling and expressive works that capture the very essence of Mauritius — radiating joy, warmth, and beauty. Each piece becomes a sensory experience where shapes, textures, and colors dance before the viewer’s eyes.
Roots and Dreams
Since the age of eight, Sapna has been painting and drawing with insatiable curiosity. From an early age, her creativity and determination set her apart as she participated in art and speech competitions and represented Mauritius in international projects such as the Model African Union and Model United Nations.
Her academic path is nothing short of impressive: in 2014, she ranked among the top national candidates for the technical section of the Cambridge A-Level exams, excelling in mathematics, physics, and design. Her passion and discipline earned her a full scholarship to Curtin University Mauritius, where she graduated in 2017 with a BA in Creative Advertising, Graphic and Digital Design, blending strategy, creativity, and artistry.
A Versatile and International Career
Since 2014, Sapna has skillfully navigated the worlds of graphic, web, and 3D design, collaborating with local and French agencies while taking on freelance projects for national and international clients. Each experience honed her technical mastery and artistic sensibility.
By 2019, she fully embraced her personal artistic career. Through Sapna Gallery, she creates immersive spaces with acrylic paintings, large-scale murals, and custom art projects. Her works are known for their bold colors, radiant energy, and unique ability to capture the light and soul of Mauritius.

The Artistic Turning Point
It all truly began in 2019 with a simple yet decisive gesture: Sapna offered a painting as a gift and shared the image online. The enthusiastic response pushed her to pick up her brushes again and share her art more widely. Soon, commissions started pouring in, and she dedicated herself entirely to painting.
“What I love most is seeing the emotion on people’s faces when they discover my paintings. It’s as if my colors bring their emotions to life,” she says.

A Unique Signature
Merging mandalas, doodling, and contemporary art, Sapna’s works blend organic and geometric shapes, bold contrasts, and bright colors. Each painting feels alive — breathing, glowing, and full of movement. The energy flowing through her art reflects the soul of Mauritius: warmth, light, diversity, and vitality.
“My paintings are alive. They breathe, radiate, and reflect the soul of Mauritius. Seeing people smile in front of my work is the most beautiful reward,” she says.
Sharing and Inspiring
Beyond her exhibitions, Sapna shares her passion through schools, training centers, and creative workshops, inspiring young people to explore their artistic side. She also takes part in TV programs and artist residencies — experiences that deepen her connection between art, nature, and Mauritian culture.
