Emirates passengers are in for a major upgrade. The airline has officially announced that free, ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi is coming to its entire fleet, giving travellers the ability to stream, browse, game and even make phone calls from the sky — at no extra cost.
Starlink Wi-Fi Takes Off
The rollout begins in November 2025 on Emirates’ Boeing 777 aircraft, with the entire fleet — including the Airbus A380 — expected to be fully equipped by mid-2027.
And yes, the Wi-Fi will be available in all cabin classes, from Economy to First.
What You’ll Be Able to Do Onboard
Starlink brings a massive leap in inflight connectivity. Passengers will be able to:
- Stream movies, series and live TV
- Play online games
- Make phone calls
- Work seamlessly
- Scroll and post on social media
- Use both the seatback screen and personal devices simultaneously
No more choosing between watching on your phone or using the onboard entertainment — you can do both.
First Aircraft Already Equipped
The first Emirates aircraft fitted with Starlink is A6-EPF, a Boeing 777-300ER currently showcased at the Dubai Airshow. Visitors are even able to test the new high-speed connection while it’s on display.
Once the Airshow wraps up, A6-EPF will operate the first commercial Emirates flight with Starlink, officially kicking off the airline’s rapid rollout.
Emirates plans to equip around 14 aircraft each month, with A380 installations beginning in February 2026.
More Antennas = More Speed
To maximise coverage and speed:
- Boeing 777 aircraft will get two Starlink antennas
- Airbus A380 jets will be fitted with three — a first in the aviation industry
This ensures stronger connectivity throughout the cabin, no matter where you’re seated.
Live TV Is Coming Too
Worried your favourite match or show will air mid-flight? Emirates has that covered too.
The airline will introduce Live TV over Starlink from late December 2025. It will roll out first on personal devices, followed by seatback screens.
Totally Free Access — No Login Hassle
Every passenger will enjoy unlimited, free Starlink Wi-Fi with:
- No payment
- No Skywards account required
- Simple one-click access
Just connect and start streaming.
A Major Step in Emirates’ Cabin Upgrade Plans
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, calls Starlink a significant milestone in the airline’s mission to “fly better.” He says passengers can expect the world’s fastest inflight Wi-Fi, smooth real-time communication, improved productivity and uninterrupted digital access throughout their journey.
Starlink rollout also ties into Emirates’ massive cabin refurbishment programme, which includes:
- Completely new Premium Economy cabins
- Upgraded Business Class
- Refreshed First Class suites
- Expanded ICE entertainment
- And best-in-class onboard connectivity
