Ride Car-Free on Sheikh Zayed Road

The Dubai Ride is an annual cycling event that is part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), set for Sunday, November 2, 2025. It will see tens of thousands of participants cycling on routes that pass through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including a closed-off portion of Sheikh Zayed Road.


The Cycling Routes

The event offers two distinct cycling routes to accommodate different skill levels:

1. The 4km Family-Friendly Route (Downtown Route)

  • Target Audience: Ideal for all ages and a more laid-back cycling experience.
  • Start Time: 6:15 am.
  • Start Location: Dubai Mall.
  • Route: Takes a relaxed spin down Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.
  • Major Landmarks Seen: Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera.

2. The 12km More Seasoned Route (Sheikh Zayed Road)

  • Target Audience: Designed for more experienced cyclists.
  • Start Location: Dubai World Trade Centre.
  • Route: Heads towards Safa Park.
  • Major Landmarks Seen:
    • Burj Khalifa
    • Museum of the Future
    • Dubai Canal
    • Sheikh Zayed Road (closed to motor vehicles, turning it into a giant cycling track).

Major Landmarks on the Ride

Participants will roll by the following major landmarks:

  1. Burj Khalifa: The world’s tallest building, towering over the route.
  2. Dubai Opera: Known for its sail-like design and status as Dubai’s cultural heart. (4km route)
  3. Museum of the Future: An architectural marvel with a unique torus-shaped design. (12km route)
  4. Dubai Canal: Provides beautiful waterfront views. (12km route)
  5. Sheikh Zayed Road: The major highway that will be closed for the event.

Registration and Participation

  • Registration Fee: Free.
  • How to Register: Sign up at dubairide.com
  • Bib Collection: After registering, participants receive a QR code, which is required to collect the event bib.
    • Location: Dubai Municipality Zabeel Park 30 x 30 Fitness Village.
    • Collection Deadline: Until Saturday, November 1.
    • Collection Timings:
      • Monday to Thursday: 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM
      • Friday: 4:00 PM to midnight
      • Weekends (Saturday/Sunday): 8:00 AM to midnight
  • Required Equipment: Participants must bring their event bib, bike, helmet, and a water bottle.
