Giacomo Valentini: Uniting Cultures Through Contemporary Art

The renowned Italian artist and designer Giacomo Valentini, who has been living in Mauritius for several years, marks a major milestone in his career with the launch of his official website and an exhibition at a gallery in La Preneuse, Mauritius. The event, attended by dignitaries and art enthusiasts, showcased his artistic evolution and offered collectors the opportunity to acquire his exclusive works.

A former student of Italian master Fratel Venzo, Valentini began painting at the age of 15 before moving away from traditional techniques. After a ten-year break, he reemerged in the 1990s with a bold, graphic style influenced by Japanese aesthetics. His transition from oil painting to aerosol reflected his deep commitment to innovation.

At just 20, Valentini founded Arpa Pty Ltd in Australia, merging art and design. Returning to Italy at 25, he introduced “Abstract Naturalism,” a concept that earned him international recognition, including an invitation to exhibit in Istanbul. Over the years, he has alternated between artistic creation and entrepreneurial ventures — a dynamic interplay that continually fuels his creative reinvention.

In 2014, he launched the Apocope of Design movement, blending tradition and modernity. A year later, in 2015, he led the revival of the traditional Japanese Kakejiku art form, giving birth to the Neo-Japonism movement.

By 2018, Valentini began exploring Carbon Art, working with high-tech materials to create waterproof and moisture-resistant pieces that push the boundaries of artistic expression.

With his new website, Valentini opens his work to a global audience, allowing collectors worldwide to discover and acquire his creations. His exhibition in La Preneuse further cements his status as a visionary artist, one who continuously redefines contemporary art through innovation and cultural fusion.
